Breakout Con presents Canadian Nationals for Star Wars: The Card Game.
Launch starfighters and ready your troops to defend the shield generators. May the Force be with you as you battle for the title of Canadian National Champion amongst the veteran competitors in the the Canadian Star Wars LCG community. Note that the Star Wars: The Card Game event has been moved from Friday, March 16th to Sunday, March 18th.
UPDATE: Unfortunately this will not be an officially recognized National event for Star Wars: The Card Game. There will be no national level events this year and no prize kit has been commissioned. FFG has committed to providing a lot of prize support from previous events. And they have also offered a reserved seat (though no bye) for the final World Championship for the game in May. Tournament organizers have also committed a 2017 Canadian National Championship playmat for first place as well as tokens for runners-up..
The main event is a Premier Tier event using a Custom Structure, held on a single day: Sunday, March 18. Competitors will play in three (3) rounds of Swiss. The Top 4 players, based on their record in Swiss, will advance to an elimination round on Friday evening.
Attendance for the Star Wars: Imperial Assault National Championship is capped at 24 participants. Decklists are required.
There is no 2018 national champion kit for Star Wars: The Card Game. FFG will be supplying a variety of prize support from over the history of the game. Tournament organizers will provide a 2017 Canadian Nationals playmat for the winner. Because this not an official FFG event, there will be no Worlds bye awarded, but FFG will provide a reserved seat for the winner at the 2018 Star Wars: The Card Game World Championship in May.
We now have confirmation that we will be offering the prizes below.
